Flavio Maluf is a Brazilian born on December 2, 1961, and graduated in mechanical engineering from the Armando Álvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP) in the city of São Paulo. He lived abroad for a year, working and studying administration at the renowned New York University. He married in 1986, and he has three children with his wife Jacqueline de Lourdes Coutinho Torres.
Flavio began work with Eucatex in 1987. He started in trade, and moved into the industrial area where he remained until 1996. He moved into the Eucatex Executives in 1997 and eventually became President of the company.
Eucatex specializes in construction materials espescially those utilizing the eucalyptus plant. The wood fibers are useful in insulation and acoustic sheets. Eucatex Group began in 1951 as the first Brazilian company to think of environmental and acoustic comfort and to use eucalyptus as a raw material for the production of plates and panels. The company expanded into providing materials for furniture companies as well as large civil construction industries. A new factory opened in 2010, also located in Salto, Brazil.
Flavio focused on modernizing productions since he began his presidency.
A recent news atrcile indicated one move that is in line with Euccatex’s environmental principles is their switch to more paperless practices. Digitalizing records provides less paper waste, and also saves time in processing documents. His company has experienced growth in the past few months.
